I was born in Denver, Colorado and have also lived in Oregon, California and Spain before moving to Iowa in 1995. For much of my life, I worked in mortgage banking, but in 1989, after leaving the business world, I moved to Spain for eight months with my husband, Bob. There I studied Spanish art and worked on my painting in the glorious Spanish light. After coming back to the United States, I returned to school in California to further my education in graphic design and fine art. Since moving to Dubuque, I painted for years with Dubuque’s Tuesday Group and owned The Main Gallery and Studio in Dubuque (2001-2005). I continue to paint on my own and belong to The Art Studio with other area artists.
I have had two shows at the University of Dubuque, in 1996 and 2000, the last in partnership with Connie Meester, a Dubuque poet. In 2003 I was honored to be chosen as one of the artists to hang a piece in the new Grand River Center. I’ve was also juried into the Tri-State Tri-Annual Exhibit in 2004, the Biennial Exhibits in 2007, 2009 and 2011 at the Dubuque Museum of Art. I am scheduled to have a solo exhibit of my work in December, 2012 at the Dubuque Museum of Art. My works hang in many homes, colleges and business establishments in Dubuque and other places in the U.S.A. and overseas.
