Born of Latvian parents in Munich, Germany, Alda Kaufman immigrated to the U.S. in 1951. A long time resident of Dubuque, she has studied watercolor under numerous nationally know artists. Alda is a signaturemember of the Iowa Watercolor Society and has participated in many one person and group shows. Her works hang in many private and public collections throughout the country. Her work was chosen for the Grand River Center and received People’s Choice in the Roshek Building Restoration. Alda’s work was also published in the International Artist’s book “100 Ways to Paint People”.Currently her work can be found at Outside the Lines Gallery and she will be showing at the Dubuque Museum of Art during June and July of 2012.
